Origin
This technology was invented more than 15 years ago by Strandex in North America and has a proven track record in North America, Japan and Europe. Silvadec is a Strandex licensee.

Raw material
Wood composite is mainly made from recycled products : saw dust from saw mills. These are blended with a polymer (HDPE) with 55 to 70% wood in the compound. This compound can be pigmented to offer a vast choice of colour options.

Manufacturing
The products are manufactured by extrusion process : with this process one can get parts with very different shapes, in constant quality and perfectly recyclable.

Finishing
For further finishing, wood composite products can be worked just as solid wood with traditional wood tools : saw, drill, plane,..

Silvadec is a Strandex licencee.

The raw material is recycled sawdust from European sawmills and we are therefore helping to protect the environment.
